Mail your plans with Finacad One CAD

Discover how to use our AutoCAD plugin to cut your plans.

Meshing your plans has several advantages:

  • Better visibility on mobile, especially thanks to a common scaling between your areas.

  • Update of the entire level or your general plan in a single click. The plans of the apartments will be automatically updated. No need to update them one by one.

  • Easier update of the names of your areas.

  • The ability to add layers.

The definition of zones (or meshing) can only be done on the main plan. Therefore, within the plugin, you will need to convert your plan as the "main plan". It will then become a folder in which to save your areas.

Open your plan

Option 1: If you already have plans added

  1. Double-click on the level plan.

  2. Select "Start partitioning" to transform this plan into a folder.

Option 2: If you do not have a main plan

  1. Select "Add a main plan" directly in your folder.

  2. Select or drag and drop your plans into the interface.

  3. Validate by clicking on "Add".

Meshing steps

After defining your main plan in Finalcad One CAD, you can start meshing using the following tool palette:

  1. Plan Preparation: Available upon opening the Xref, this set of tools helps you clean and lighten your plan.

  2. Partitioning: Includes tools for cleaning your plans and polylines for tracing areas.

  3. Zone Creation: Once the zones are traced and named, use these tools to generate and export them.

  4. Zone Categorization: Use the color set to indicate the type of each zone.

Preparation of the main plan

Before tracing the zones on your plan, it is crucial to make it readable and clean by eliminating unnecessary elements:

  1. Opening the Plan: Open the Xref of the plan to access the "Plan Preparation" palette.

  2. Cleaning the File: Select "Prepare the file".

  3. Improving Readability: Use "Darken" for better visibility, especially outdoors.

  4. Black and White Mode: For very colorful plans, choose "Switch to black and white mode".

  5. Removing Hatches: This option automatically removes hatches (optional).

  6. Lightening the Plan: "Delete cleaning objects" to make the plan lighter (optional).

Trace and name the zones

To effectively trace the zones on your plan:

  1. Scale Check: Select "Check units" and follow the instructions to maintain the correct scale during export.

  2. Plan Alignment: Use "Scale and align to the main plan" to correctly align the layers or plan backgrounds.

  3. Orientation Change: Change the plan's orientation with "Change UCS".

  4. Tracing Tools: Define each zone using the tracing tools.

  5. Naming Zones: Name each zone and ensure the text is centered.

Zone generation

After tracing the polylines and naming the zones:

  1. Automatic Zone Creation: Click on "Create all zones". Finalcad One CAD will automatically generate all the traced zones.

  2. Reset Zoning: Use this option to delete all previously created zones.

  3. Managing Blocks:

    • Trace the polyline corresponding to the block in a defined zone.

    • Select "Create a zone with block manually".

    • Follow the instructions in the command bar to finalize.

Zone categorization

When creating zones, a color coding system is automatically applied for better visualization:

  1. Color Assignment: Each color corresponds to a specific category of zone. FC One Cad automatically assigns a color based on the zone's naming.

  2. Color Modification: If the automatically assigned color does not suit, you have the option to change it before publishing the changes.
